Minnesota: New Law Requires Providers, Payers to Use Electronic Billing Takes Effect. The law, which was enacted in 2007, is anticipated to save millions in administrative costs. The Department of Health estimated that e-billing will save both providers and payers about $60 million annually, while streamlining billing processes, and increasing accuracy and, as a result, efficiency. The law also mandates that providers and payers electronically exchanging payment remittances, effective December 15th. Costs savings is also expected from this switch.
