Massachusetts Appoints New Senator

The Massachusetts state legislature voted to give Governor Deval Patrick authority to appoint someone to fill Former Senator Ted Kennedy’s seat until the special election is held in January. Today Governor Patrick appointed former Kennedy aide Paul Kirk to fill the seat. Kirk will be sworn in tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. by Vice-President Biden.
